Week 1: Universe, Galaxy, & Solar System
SAMPLE: Thursday's SPACE LESSON PLANS of Week 1:
Read "The Solar System" from Pocket Scientist and "Our Solar System" from Space. Explore internet links if you have a computer. Suggested topics for teaching children about space: Discuss or journal:
- Pretend you have just discovered a new planet in our solar system.
- What is it like?
- Can it sustain life?
- What are you going to name it?
- What is the atmosphere like?
Week 2: Teaching children about the Sun
